| The New Haven Paint & Clay Club
In 1900, a group of Connecticut artists gathered
“... for the purpose of organizing a society or club to hold
exhibitions of paintings, drawings and sculpture by
members of the proposed society ...”
and founded The New Haven Paint & Clay Club. This was the beginning of one of New England’s oldest, and still active, arts organizations.
The purpose of the New Haven Paint & Clay Club is still to provide opportunities for artists to show their work. The Club sponsors two exhibits each year for the enjoyment and education of the public.
